CROSSFIT QUESTIONS

How long have you been into Crossfit?
I joined Crossfit Hurstville when it opened at the beginning of 2015.

What made you start Crossfit?
I had done six months at Crossfit a couple of years prior in the city and really enjoyed it, when Crossfit Hurstville opened not far from home I was keen to get back to Crossfit to improve my fitness and strength.

Favourite Exercise/Crossfit movement?
I’m not exactly sure why but I seem to do well on the rowers.

Least favourite exercise/Crossfit movement?
Burbees and box jumps

Biggest achievement in CrossFit to date?
According to the scales I have lost 10 kilos since I started at CrossFit, however I have tracked measurements of my thigh, hips, waist, chest and arms and am delighted to have lost over 65 cm off my circumference! My jeans agree and I’m delighted to have dropped two sizes. I don’t think there is any lift or exercise that I have not seen improvement in whether that’s based on technique, speed or weight.

Most embarrassing or funny moment in CrossFit?
I cannot catch a ball to save myself – but I can live with that.

What has contributed to your success in the last month?
Crossfit for me is about

variety – in that every day can be different,

environment – the coaches and members are really supportive and encouraging

strength- feeling stronger in myself not just for training but functional strength that carries into day to day task.

In 50 words or less describe your CrossFit Hurstville Experience?
There are many members of the gym that are younger, fitter and faster than I will ever be – but it’s in an environment which is accepting of all levels and it’s been great to share not only in my progress but the progress of others. When I joined CrossFit Hurstville I was really unfit. The initial months definitely woke up hibernating muscles! However the coaches were great at tailoring moves to my ability and scaling them back to a level I could start with – and then progressing the difficulty as time showed improvements.
