How did you come across CrossFit and how long have you been doing it? Ben introduced me to CrossFit a few years ago but it took me while to join because a) I thought you had to be super fit to do it. b) I really hate starting new things so I had to overcome anxious/ nervous feelings. I’ve been at CrossFit Hurstville now for about 6 months and really enjoying it.
What do you like most about CrossFit? I really enjoy the welcoming and encouraging community. I like how you’re met with smiling faces when you walk into the gym and given hi-5s when you finish a session not just by your coach but by everyone. I also like how the session is split into a strength/ technique component followed by a sweat session.
Favourite Exercise/Crossfit movement? Clean & Jerks and 4 rounds of whatever!
Least favourite exercise/Crossfit movement? Handstand push ups!
Biggest achievement in CrossFit to date? My results in the challenge. I dropped 4.1% Body Fat.
What has contributed to your success in the last month? Breaking eating habits and actually eating more. Forcing myself to have breakfast rather then just a coffee or two. Meal prep for lunches and drinking less beer!
In 50 words or less describe your CrossFit Hurstville Experience? Right from the start I was welcomed into this happy community of people. The coaches support and encourage you every session to challenge yourself to get the results you’re after. They explicitly break down movements so you understand how it all works and take the time to critique and correct your technique to ensure the movement is done correctly and safely. Every session is different, challenging and rewarding.
